February 10th Endorsement Meeting
AWPC will hold its endorsement meeting for the March primaries on Feb. 10th at the AFL-CIO Building located at 11th and Lavaca beginning at 5:30 p.m. HOWEVER we have been advised of the chance of freezing rain, sleet or snow that day. In order to ensure our members’ and candidates’ safety, we will cancel the Feb. 10th endorsement meeting in the event that AISD cancels classes; the endorsement meeting will be rescheduled for the following Wednesday. Feb. 17th. We anticipate the same location, but if it is unavailable, we will send announcements to our members via email or on this website. If you have any questions about cancellation of the Feb. 10th endorsement meeting, please contact any AWPC board member!
March 11th Meeting on Proposed By-Law Changes
AWPC will hold a general meeting of all members on Thursday, March 11th beginning at 5:30 p.m. to vote on proposed changes to AWPC’s organizational and PAC by-laws. The location of this meeting will be announced on this website and via email or mail to our members in the near future. Membership dues must be received by AWPC no later than Thursday, Feb. 25th in order to be eligible to vote at the March 11th meeting. Copies of the proposed by-laws and related materials will be available on this website shortly. If you need further information or a copy of the proposed by-laws, please contact any AWPC board member.

These dues will provide membership at the local, state and national level for calendar year 2009.  Please help spread the word to your friends who may be interested in joining. And, as always, if someone is interested in joining, but is experiencing financial hardship, please ask him or her to contact either Cindy Veidt (AWPC President) or Chloe Love (AWPC VP-Membership) to discuss membership.Â
